About the Adirondacks

Explore the Adirondack Frontier
In 1892, New York State established the Adirondack Park which spans across 6 million acres of pristine lakes, varying mountain tops, and wide open spaces.  The Explore Adirondack Frontier region is located in Franklin County, the northeast corner of the Park, and is known for its limitless outdoor recreation including: hiking, biking, fishing, camping, paddling, skiing, golfing, and snowmobiling.  After a fun-filled day, one of the charming and lively downtowns will be waiting to welcome you back from your excursion with ample amenities from food and drink to an array of accommodations to fit your style.  Visit once and you'll fall in love with the Explore Adirondack Frontier region.
